The programme of this Master following Bachelor is essentially structured around the following themes: basic study of non-polluted environments; sources and causes of environmental pollution; methodologies for detection and analysis of environmental pollution; prevention and abatement of environmental pollution; treatment of waste; clean technology and environmental toxicology including the methodologies for risk assessment.

Eligibility:
The programme is open to students who have a bachelor`s degree in exact or applied sciences of minimum three years with good overall scores (at least a second class or equivalent, preferably higher) from a university or recognized equivalent. Adequate knowledge of mathematics, physics and chemistry at university level is an absolute requirement. Previous knowledge of biology, microbiology and/or soil science is an advantage but not a requisite. The candidate`s application file will be evaluated in all cases, independent of the diploma. The candidate must be proficient in English.

The KT&G Foundation offers scholarships to the Turkish, Iranian, Russian, Kazakhstani, Indonesian students who seek a master`s degree at theGraduate School of International Studies (GSIS) of Yonsei University:

Eligibility and Conditions

Terms of Fellowship
The scholarship covers a maximum of 24 months (2 years), from March 2010 to February 2012. Students must maintain a GPA of at least 3.0/ 4.3 every semester to maintain fellowship eligibility.

Scholarship Details
1. Tuition fee: The KT&G Foundation will provide tuition fee for Spring 2010 through Fall 2011 (up to 4 semesters).
2. Stipend: The KT&G Foundation will provide a monthly stipend of KRW 1,000,000(= USD 892) for up to 24 months.

Obligations
1. Participation in a field trip, a roundtable conference prepared by the Foundation
2. Participation in events and activities upon request from the school or the foundation
3. Submission of a report on your life in Korea two months prior to your graduation and a copy of your Master`s thesis
4. KT&G Fellowship recipients must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.3 scale in order to retain their scholarship. If they fail in this requirement at any time, their scholarship will be cancelled and they will be ineligible to receive it again in further semesters.
5. If a KT&G Fellowship recipient decides to withdraw from their program of study they must pay the KT&G Foundation the full amount of the scholarship received up to the time of withdrawal.

The Berlin Graduate School Muslim Cultures and Societies will admit 15 PhD students to its doctoral program to begin October 1, 2010. Ten of these candidates will receive aGraduate School grant; the other candidates will be supported in their quest for funding.

The Graduate School invites applications from candidates whose dissertation project fits one of the Graduate Schools Research Areas. Successful applicants will have a masters degree in one of the disciplines represented at theGraduate School, with a ranking, where applicable, of above average. Berikut ini adalah tips dan triks yang dapat menjadi masukan berharga dalam mempersiapkan diri dalam menghadapi ulangan atau ujian :

1. Belajar Kelompok
Belajar kelompok dapat menjadi kegiatan belajar menjadi lebih menyenangkan karena ditemani oleh teman dan berada di rumah sendiri sehingga dapat lebih santai. Namun sebaiknya tetap didampingi oleh orang dewasa seperti kakak, paman, bibi atau orang tua agar belajar tidak berubah menjadi bermain. Belajar kelompok ada baiknya mengajak teman yang pandai dan rajin belajar agar yang tidak pandai jadi ketularan pintar. Dalam belajar kelompok kegiatannya adalah membahas pelajaran yang belum dipahami oleh semua atau sebagian kelompok belajar baik yang sudah dijelaskan guru maupun belum dijelaskan guru.

2. Rajin Membuat Catatan Intisari Pelajaran
Bagian-bagian penting dari pelajaran sebaiknya dibuat catatan di kertas atau buku kecil yang dapat dibawa kemana-mana sehingga dapat dibaca di mana pun kita berada. Namun catatan tersebut jangan dijadikan media mencontek karena dapat merugikan kita sendiri.

3. Membuat Perencanaan Yang Baik
Untuk mencapai suatu tujuan biasanya diiringi oleh rencana yang baik. Oleh karena itu ada baiknya kita membuat rencana belajar dan rencana pencapaian nilai untuk mengetahui apakah kegiatan belajar yang kita lakukan telah maksimal atau perlu ditingkatkan. Sesuaikan target pencapaian dengan kemampuan yang kita miliki. Jangan menargetkan yang yang nomor satu jika saat ini kita masih di luar 10 besar di kelas. Buat rencana belajar yang diprioritaskan pada mata pelajaran yang lemah. Buatlah jadwal belajar yang baik.

4. Disiplin Dalam Belajar
Apabila kita telah membuat jadwal belajar maka harus dijalankan dengan baik. Contohnya seperti belajar tepat waktu dan serius tidak sambil main-main dengan konsentrasi penuh. Jika waktu makan, mandi, ibadah, dan sebagainya telah tiba maka jangan ditunda-tunda lagi. Lanjutkan belajar setelah melakukan kegiatan tersebut jika waktu belajar belum usai. Bermain dengan teman atau game dapat merusak konsentrasi belajar. Sebaiknya kegiatan bermain juga dijadwalkan dengan waktu yang cukup panjang namun tidak melelahkan jika dilakukan sebelum waktu belajar. Jika bermain video game sebaiknya pilih game yang mendidik dan tidak menimbulkan rasa penasaran yang tinggi ataupun rasa kekesalan yang tinggi jika kalah.

5. Menjadi Aktif Bertanya dan Ditanya
Jika ada hal yang belum jelas, maka tanyakan kepada guru, teman atau orang tua. Jika kita bertanya biasanya kita akan ingat jawabannya. Jika bertanya, bertanyalah secukupnya dan jangan bersifat menguji orang yang kita tanya. Tawarkanlah pada teman untuk bertanya kepada kita hal-hal yang belum dia pahami. Semakin banyak ditanya maka kita dapat semakin ingat dengan jawaban dan apabila kita juga tidak tahu jawaban yang benar, maka kita dapat membahasnya bersama-sama dengan teman. Selain itu

6. Belajar Dengan Serius dan Tekun
Ketika belajar di kelas dengarkan dan catat apa yang guru jelaskan. Catat yang penting karena bisa saja hal tersebut tidak ada di buku dan nanti akan keluar saat ulangan atau ujian. Ketika waktu luang baca kembali catatan yang telah dibuat tadi dan hapalkan sambil dimengerti. Jika kita sudah merasa mantap dengan suatu pelajaran maka ujilah diri sendiri dengan soal-soal. Setelah soal dikerjakan periksa jawaban dengan kunci jawaban. Pelajari kembali soal-soal yang salah dijawab.

7. Hindari Belajar Berlebihan
Jika waktu ujian atau ulangan sudah dekat biasanya kita akan panik jika belum siap. Jalan pintas yang sering dilakukan oleh pelajar yang belum siap adalah dengan belajar hingga larut malam / begadang atau membuat contekan. Sebaiknya ketika akan ujian tetap tidur tepat waktu karena jika bergadang semalaman akan membawa dampak yang buruk bagi kesehatan, terutama bagi anak-anak.

8. Jujur Dalam Mengerjakan Ulangan Dan Ujian
Hindari mencontek ketika sedang mengerjakan soal ulangan atau ujian. Mencontek dapat membuat sifat kita curang dan pembohong. Kebohongan bagaimanapun juga tidak dapat ditutup-tutupi terus-menerus dan cenderung untuk melakukan kebohongan selanjutnya untuk menutupi kebohongan selanjutnya. Anggaplah dengan nyontek pasti akan ketahuan guru dan memiliki masa depan sebagai penjahat apabila kita melakukan kecurangan.

Sebelum meresmikan aturan baru ini, pekan lalu, Mark Zuckerberg, pendiri Facebook mengirimkan surat terbuka pada seluruh 350 juta penggunanya. Ketika itu ia menjanjikan bahwa akan ada perubahan di Facebook.

Intinya, pilihan-pilihan baru yang disediakan akan memungkinkan pengguna mengustomisasi setiap status update ataupun apapun yang mereka post dan upload. Misalnya oleh konten tersebut bisa dilihat dan lain-lain.

“Facebook melakukan transformasi terhadap kemampuan dunia untuk mengontrol informasi secara online dengan mendorong lebih dari 350 juta orang untuk melakukan personalisasi siapa yang bisa melihat setiap konten apapun yang mereka pasang,” kata Elliot Scharge, Vice President of Communications, Public Policy and Marketing Facebook pada keterangan resminya, 10 Desember 2009.

Scharge menyebutkan, pihaknya mendesain Facebook agar orang bisa mengontrol informasi apa yang ingin bagikan pada siapa. “Itu alasan kami mengapa layanan kami menarik perhatian berbagai kelompok pengguna dari seluruh dunia,” kata Scharge. “Pengumuman yang kami lakukan hari ini bertujuan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan pengguna,” ucapnya

Adapun perubahan yang paling signifikan yang dilakukan Facebook adalah opsi privacy yang kini tersedia untuk seluruh pengguna setiap kali mereka melakukan update status atau upload foto. Opsi yang ada kini memungkinkan pengguna mengubah konten tersebut apakah dapat dilihat oleh hanya teman, teman dari teman, semua orang, atau kustomisasi sendiri.

Fitur baru lainnya yang disediakan adalah kemampuan untuk membuat daftar teman dan mengelompokkan teman-teman berdasarkan apa yang ingin pengguna bagikan dengan mereka.

Opsi ini memungkinkan pengguna untuk berbagi foto hanya dengan keluarganya, atau membuat opini yang bisa dibaca oleh semua orang. Terakhir, Facebook juga menghapuskan regional network, fitur yang sudah usang untuk sebuah situs dengan 350 juta pengguna.

Ir Setyo Utomo MP ketua tim mengatakan, program ini terlaksana berkat perolehan dana Hibah Kompetitif Strategi Nasional (Sinta) Puslitbangnak Cluster pembibitan Kambing yang diperoleh LPPM UMBY dari DP2M Dikti 2009. Dalam pelaksanaanya tim Sinta LPPM UMBY mengambil sperma kambing PE pejantan milik kelompok Tani Ternak Mandiri selanjutnya sperma diteliti di UPTD BPBPTDK untuk dilihat tingkat mortalitas, dan gerakan masanya, pengujian dilakukan melalui 3 metode yaitu pengenceran dengan kuning telor, Aquades dan Air Kelapa. Sebelum dilakukan IB terlebih dulu indukan diberikan Sinkronosasi hormon PGF2 Alfa selama 72 jam. Subarsono Inseminator dari UPTD BPBPTDK Dinas Pertanian DIY mengatakan bahwa, dari hasil uji laboratorium menunjukkan bahwa sperma pejantan milik kelompok Tani Ternak Mandiri cukup bagus untuk dijadikan Inseminasi Buatan.

Winarto Ketua Kelompok Tani Ternak Mandiri mengatakan, ”Jumlah pejantan yang dimiliki kelompok sangat minim tidak sesuai dengan jumlah indukanya, sehingga produksinya juga lambat, semoga program IB nisasi kali ini bisa berhasil sehingga kelompok kami dapat segera memperoleh anakan dari generasi sendiri dan produksinya pun akan meningkat karena tidak lagi tergantung dan menunggu giliran pejantan kawin alami”, katanya.(Gandoeng)

The International Peace Research Institute, Oslo and The Australian National University`s Department of International Relations, in partnership with Bjørknes College, are offering a scholarship for Master of International Affairs Specialising in Peace and Conflict.

The program brings together academics at the forefront of international relations, peace, and conflict research from two sides of the globe. Students spend one semester at Bjørknes College in Norway with faculty from the International Peace Research Institute, Oslo (PRIO) pursuing courses in Conflict Resolution and Peace-Building, Ethics of Peace and War, and Gender and War. The international relations courses are taken at ANU in Canberra. Participants have full access to the specialist libraries of the Nobel Institute and PRIO.

The Oslo Peace Scholarship pays the tuition fee and provides a living allowance for both Oslo and Canberra. Full details available here.
